Answers and Questions
In the competitive world of perfumery, captivating visuals are essential to convey the essence and allure of your fragrances. At SL Media, located in Dubai, we specialize in creating stunning photo and video content that embodies the sophistication and uniqueness of your perfume brand. Bottles and jewellery share the same problem — glass, metal and reflections — and the same room solves it, so see the jewellery photography studio in Dubai if your line includes both.

What a perfume shoot covers

A fragrance project splits into four groups of frames, and most brands need all four inside one session:

  • The pack shot on a clean background. Bottle sharp, label straight, fill level even, proportions honest. This is the frame a retailer or a marketplace listing asks for first, and it is the one that gets rejected most often when it comes from a phone.
  • The hero frame. A built set, controlled reflections, colour matched to the juice inside the glass. This is what carries the campaign and the launch post.
  • Macro and texture. The cap, the engraved shoulder, the crimp under the collar, the cord on an oud bottle, the grain of a wooden box. Niche houses sell on these details, and they are invisible in a wide shot.
  • Packaging and collection. The outer box, the sleeve, the whole line together in one frame so a distributor deck and a shelf plan have something to use.

Glass is the hard part. A bottle reflects the room it stands in, including the camera, the lights and the person holding the flag, so most of the lighting work is subtraction rather than addition.

Live shoot or CGI

There are two ways to get an image of a bottle, and they solve different problems.

A live shoot puts real glass in real light. It is the right answer when the bottle exists, the set is buildable, and you want the specific imperfection of a physical liquid.

CGI builds the bottle once as a 3D model, and after that the environment is free: smoke, water, marble, sand, a set that no studio in Dubai could physically hold. It earns its place when the bottle is still at the factory and the campaign cannot wait, when one line has six flankers that must look identical, or when the concept needs a place that does not exist. We produce this kind of work in-house, including CGI for Rayhaan.

A working rule: one bottle, one buildable set, sample in hand, shoot it. A launch across several environments with the physical sample still in production, build it. If the campaign needs motion as well, that runs through perfume video production and CGI production on the same brief.

How the shoot runs

  1. Brief. Which bottles, how many SKUs, and where the images will live: your own store, Noon, a retail partner deck, Instagram. Each has its own spec, and knowing on day zero is cheaper than re-exporting a month later.
  2. Bottle prep. Glass is cleaned, labels are aligned, fill levels are matched across the set, caps are checked for scratches. This step is unglamorous and it removes hours of retouching.
  3. Set build. Light is built once per group of bottles, not rebuilt per bottle. Polarisers, flags and gradient reflectors do the shaping.
  4. Capture. Tethered to a monitor, so you approve frames while the set is still standing and nothing has to be rebuilt from memory.
  5. Post. Glass is composited from layers, colour is matched against the physical bottle rather than a screen guess, dust and micro-scratches are cleaned, exports are built to each platform spec.
  6. Delivery. Files named by SKU, in the crops and sizes agreed in the brief.

Who books this

Niche and oud houses across Dubai and the Gulf. Private-label brands shooting a first line before it reaches a shelf. Distributors and retail chains that need one visual standard across a catalogue assembled from twenty suppliers. Marketplace sellers whose listings keep bouncing on image requirements. Agencies that want a production partner rather than a photographer for the day.

Why SL Media

Our studio is in Dubai Investment Park 2, and the crew that lights the bottle is the crew that retouches it. You are not coordinating a photographer, a set builder and a retoucher across three calendars.

The CGI and VFX pipeline sits in the same building as the camera, which is why a project can start as a live shoot and finish with a rendered environment without changing supplier. Work samples are at vimeo.com/slsdxb.

If the line runs into skincare or makeup, that work sits with our beauty product photographer. Houses that carry a jewellery line alongside the fragrance shoot it as jewelry photography in Dubai, on the same lighting discipline. Related: photo production, product photography, CGI production, perfume video production. Send the SKU list and the references and we will come back with a quote.

We produce both photo and video content — including product photography, campaign visuals, mood-based storytelling, packaging shots, and model imagery that reflects the essence of the fragrance.

Of course. Whether you're launching one hero product or an entire collection, we organize and execute the shoot efficiently while ensuring each item is distinct yet consistent in style.
Yes. We produce scroll-stopping visuals formatted specifically for Instagram, TikTok, Meta ads, and other digital placements — from short-form videos to carousel-ready images.
When the bottle is not manufactured yet, when one line has several flankers that must match frame for frame, or when the set is impossible to build physically. If the sample is in your hand and the set is buildable, a live shoot is usually faster. See CGI production.
The bottles, the outer packaging, the SKU list, and any brand guideline covering colour and logo placement. If the glass is a pre-production sample with a scratch or a temporary label, tell us at the brief stage so we plan the retouching instead of discovering it on set.
Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it. The listing frames are shot while the clean set is standing, then the set is rebuilt once for the campaign frames. Tell us the platforms in the brief so the exports are built to their specs.
Yes. Once a bottle is built in CGI, new flankers, new colourways and new environments reuse the same asset, so the second campaign costs less production time than the first.
Yes. Layouts are built so text and logo lock-ups can be swapped per market without reshooting, which matters for a Gulf launch running in both languages at once.
