Answers and Questions
Clothing looks better in motion. From fabric flow to fit, fashion videos help your audience feel the product before buying it. Below are answers to common questions about how we create stylish, brand-aligned video content for clothing brands and online retailers.

Which video format fits which placement

The placement decides the format, not the other way round. A clip that works on a product page dies in a paid feed, and a campaign film cut down to nine seconds usually loses the one shot that made it worth filming. Decide where the video lives before anyone books a model.

  • Product page clip. Short, silent, plain set. One full turn plus two detail moves. Its only job is to answer the fit and fabric questions that stills leave open, which is why it plays without sound and without a story.
  • Vertical short-form for Instagram and TikTok. Built around the first second. Movement starts before the logo, the garment is on screen immediately, and text on screen carries the message because most of the audience never turns the sound on.
  • Campaign film. Talent, location, music, a reason to watch to the end. This is the piece that sets how the brand feels for the season, and everything else gets cut from its footage.
  • Lookbook film. The collection in sequence, one styling logic, consistent light. Buyers and wholesale partners watch it the way they used to flip a printed lookbook.
  • Fabric and motion b-roll. Macro of weave, stitch, hardware, hem in movement. Unglamorous and the most reused material you will own, because it fills a season of posts and ad variations.

Most brands need two or three of these, and they come out of one shooting day if they are planned as one shoot rather than booked separately.

How a clothing video job runs

  1. Brief and treatment. Placements, the list of looks, references you like, runtime, and whether there is voice, text on screen or neither. A treatment gets written before the calendar opens, so the crew is filming a plan rather than improvising with a studio booked and running.
  2. Casting and styling. Models are picked for fit as well as face, because a sample that hangs wrong on the body ruins the frame no matter how the shot is lit. Samples arrive ahead of the day, steamed, pinned and sorted into shooting order.
  3. Shoot. Motion needs different light than stills: continuous light instead of flash, shutter chosen for how the fabric moves, and the direction of movement planned so the edit has somewhere to cut. We shoot tethered and review takes on set while it is still standing.
  4. Edit, grade, sound. Rough cut first for your approval, then colour, then music and sound design. Fixing the story at the grading stage is the expensive way to work.
  5. Versioning and delivery. Masters in 16:9, plus 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 cuts reframed rather than cropped blindly, captioned versions where they are needed, and file specs matched to each platform.

Who books clothes video

Fashion labels launching a seasonal drop and needing one campaign film plus a month of social cuts from the same footage. E-commerce stores adding video to product pages because returns on fit are eating the margin. Marketplace sellers whose listings need video to compete in a scrolling grid. Modest wear and abaya brands, where drape and movement are the product and stills genuinely cannot show them. Showrooms and distributors building wholesale material. Agencies that need a production partner with a studio rather than a videographer for the day.

Why SL Media

Our studio sits in Dubai Investment Park 2, and the crew that films is the crew that edits and grades. Nobody is handing a drive to a freelancer who was not in the room and hoping the cut matches the brief.

We run the same pipeline for fashion clients including Fabiana Filippi and TatianaTretyak, and we extend it with CGI and AI production when a collection needs a set that does not exist in Dubai or a background that cannot be built in a day. Work samples live at vimeo.com/slsdxb.

Yes. We can provide stylists, models, and shooting locations — or work with your existing team and creative direction.
Yes. We provide content in vertical, square, and horizontal formats for websites, Instagram, TikTok, and paid ad campaigns.
No problem. We offer batch video production for seasonal drops and large inventories — with efficient workflows and fast turnaround.
It depends entirely on where it plays. A product page clip stays short and silent because the shopper is already deciding. Short-form social lives or dies in the first second. A campaign film earns a longer runtime only if there is a story holding it. We agree runtime per placement at the brief, before anything is filmed.
Yes, and it is the sensible way to do it. Stills and motion come off the same set while the light is already built, the model is already styled and the garment is already steamed. Ask for both in the brief so the day is timed for it rather than squeezed at the end.
Samples in the sizes the models will wear, the list of looks in the order you want them shot, and any reference material you like. Garments that arrive the day before can be steamed, checked for defects and pinned. Items handed over on the morning of the shoot still get filmed, they just eat shooting time.
Yes. Licensed tracks are cleared for the platforms you name, captions are burned in or delivered as a separate file, and Arabic or Russian versions are cut from the same master. Name the markets at the brief so the edit is built for them from the start.
Revisions are agreed in the quote, normally one round on the rough cut and one after the grade, which keeps the project from drifting. Delivery depends on volume and how much post work the footage needs, and we put a date in the quote rather than promising a number blind.
